ISLAMABAD: A session of the Parliament will convene on May 11 at 3pm, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Tuesday, adding that the meeting would only focus on coronavirus.

Speaking to the media here in the federal capital, Qureshi said the parliamentary session would continue every other day. "No quorum will be identified." The meeting decided

The parliamentary interior minister pointed out that parliament would be limited to the Corona bacterial epidemic.

Qureshi also explained that no visitors would be allowed to participate in the session and that movement in the Parliament Lodges would also be limited.


Chaudhry laments virtual session idea being ignored


A day earlier, Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry Dhori said the opposition had opposed the technology in protest of a proposed virtual session of parliament after the coronavirus was stopped.

"The Parliament session is necessary but people's health is also necessary," Chaudhry had said.

He spoke in support of the US Alliance but said maintaining some independence was not the answer.

Earlier, he had proposed a virtual meeting. The Federal Minister said,"We are not going to parliament to embrace each other." Someone has to talk, someone has to give a speech,

The Parliament, he had underscored, had a role in the political sphere, which was why it was necessary to call a virtual meeting.

 The Opposition parties, by opposing the idea of a virtual meeting had resisted technology, he had observed.
