Oil marketing companies responded to the OGRA notice. In response, the government was blamed. Oil companies have also called for an increase in the prices of petroleum products.

Oil marketing companies say unplanned imports of petroleum products were banned in March, prompting repeated requests from the government.

In response, oil marketing companies have also said that prices in the global market are currently much higher than in Pakistan, and the government should announce new prices for 15 days.

It may be recalled that OGRA had two days ago issued notices to three marketing companies in the oil market seeking reasons for supply of petrol and diesel and asked why the required stock was not kept at petrol pumps.

Pakistan's Hydrocarbon Development Institute also expressed concern over the severity of the petroleum crisis.

OGRA says that some oil marketing companies are not providing the required amount. Businesses need to ensure that petrol and diesel are available to prevent a crisis. OGRA also wrote a letter to the Ministry of Petroleum to issue instructions to the oil companies.

These businesses include Shell Pakistan, Attock Petroleum and Total Park.
